Profile

Experienced software developer and writer with a strong focus on satisfying customer needs. Current specialization is in Ruby on Rails with substantial experience in remote consulting and distributed teams.

Experience

LARK GROUP, INC.; Evansville, Indiana — 1995-current

Owner. Lark Group is an independent computer consulting firm working with cutting-edge technologies. Projects include web site development, book, magazine, and online writing, training, technology planning, and software development. Retooled to focus on Ruby on Rails and associated technologies in late 2006.

This work has given me extensive experience in working with distributed, agile teams at all levels from project manager to developer. I also have a good track record for coming into large existing code bases with poor or no documentation and moving the project forward.

As part of my work, I also contribute patches and documentation to Ruby on Rails itself, as well as maintain a continuous integration server to aid in the development of Rails. My strong connections with the core Rails developers give me good insight into both the current state of the framework and its future directions.
