Why hasn't anyone bothered to invent a reasonably-priced alternative to fibre channel?

• Microsoft Restructures Support Program for Legacy Products to Provide Greater Flexibility in Product Migrations - This appears to be an acknowledgement by Microsoft that old products will never really die.
• .NET naked - See these hitherto unpublished pictures of the .NET Framework architecture - Ralf investigates coupling in the .NET framework with the aid of a visual analysis tool. Followup entry here.
• Reality Check - Jensen Harris disassembles some of the recent ridiculous rumormongering about the Office 2007 UI. I still personally dislike the new UI, but that's no excuse for the sort of sloppy "news" coverage that's been too pervasive in the last week or so.
• A First Look at SQL Server Everywhere - I poked around a bit for Developer.com.
• Database tag clouds - Interesting idea for database documentation via the dbdesc folks.
• How hard is it to get a hot fix from Microsoft? It's not easy online. - Josh Ledgard descends into the pits of Microsoft product support hell. Here's my take on this: getting hotfixes for Microsoft products is so much a waste of my time that I generally find another way to do what I wanted to do instead. At my hourly rate, it doesn't pay to chase hotfixes.
