The
Daily Grind 760
By Mike Gunderloy

Letting the kids stay up late is a good way to get a quiet morning.
Software
-
VisitorVille 3D is Here - Google Blogoscoped has some neat screenshots
of this pointlessly fun Web stats software in action.
-
Ghostzilla - The "invisible
browser" hides in a window within other application software so your boss
won't notice it. (via
Digg)
-
Izenda - AJAX reporting component
for ASP.NET applications. Free Express Edition with some limitations,
Standard Edition is $745 per CPU.
-
Mosaico Author a
Tool for Building and Testing Business Rules - Free tool for use in your
.NET applications.
-
SmartDraw 7.4 -
New features include tighter integration with MS Office, more maps, floor
plans, and calendar templates.
Information
-
VS2005 and the quality factor - SearchVB lets me expand my thoughts on
VS2005. Contrary to popular belief, I don't actually think the sky is
falling.
-
XML Queries and
Indexing in SQL Server 2005 - Some basic notes I wrote up for
Developer.com.
-
New approach to licensing with the Office XML formats - It looks like
Microsoft is really serious about making the Office XML file formats useable
by anyone who wants to use them, IP issues notwithstanding. Brian Jones has
the details. I've been among those who've been skeptical of Microsoft's
moves in this area, so it's good to recognize when they're actually moving
in the right direction.

The Ultimate Guide to Google Services - Holy Moley they have their
fingers in a lot of pies these days. (via
Gadgetopia)
-
New Sober Worm Spoofs FBI, CIA Spreads Fast - Every time I think I
understand how clueless the average Internet user is, something like this
comes along to prove me wrong. It's 2005, people, don't click on attachments
you weren't expecting to get! The FBI isn't going to send you e-mail any
more than the Easter bunny is. My inbox is bulging with the detritus of this
particular chunk of malware.
