By Mike Gunderloy
Wednesday, April 27, 2005
This issue of the Daily Grind is pre-recorded. If all goes well, it's
being automatically published while I'm on a train somewhere in the Columbia
River gorge. Current news coverage will pick up on Friday.

-
Technical Overview of Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1) -
Excellent info if, like me, you need to deploy this beast and you're
wondering what you're getting yourself into.
-
Data
Crunching - "Solve Everyday Problems using Java, Python, and more", the
latest Pragmatic Bookshelf volume. This one is by Greg Wilson, and it covers
lots of useful techniques for quick and dirty data analysis. I read an early
draft, and it's good stuff.
-
Longhorn Developer Preview (5048) Screenshot Gallery 1 - Paul Thurrott
has some screenshots up, and it does look like the much-ballyhooed sidebar
went to sleep with the fishes. Glad I didn't spend any time learning how to
develop for it.
-
A Quick Peek
at Longhorn - From PCMag. So quick, in fact, as to be utterly
superficial. At least, I hope there's more to Longhorn than this.
