The
Daily Grind 535
By Mike Gunderloy

I'm not gonna tell you what I scored on that nerd quiz that's been
going around but I will say it's a higher score than I've seen published on any
other blog so far.
Software
-
Dave's Quick Search Taskbar - Version
3.1.9.1 of this excellent utility is just out. This is one of the things I
reinstall first when I repave a machine - it offers super-easy access to all
sorts of online information.
-
MagicDraw UML 9.0 - I don't keep
much track of UML tools, but this one caught my eye with its support for UML
2.0 and its visual differencing of UML models. Pricing starts at $149, but
you can download a demo.
-
Microsoft ActiveSync 3.8 - New version of the Microsoft software for
synching Windows Mobile devices with the desktop. Fine, but I wish the
release notes weren't "ActiveSync 3.8 contains fixes making synchronization
more trouble free than ever before and includes all the significant
improvements brought to you in ActiveSync 3.5, 3.6, and 3.7.1: it is easy to
install and use while offering the best levels of reliability." Tell me what
you actually fixed, especially considering what a dog's breakfast some
previous versions of ActiveSync have been! (via
Neil Cowburn)
-
Sokoban Pro - .NET-based free
version of the classic annoying solitaire push-the-boxes-around game.
