• 01 Dec 2004: Bundles in Mono - Mono is making strides towards self-contained applications without the necessity of installing a Framework - a path the .NET team has decided not to follow.
• HealthMonitor - Open source computer monitoring app in .NET. Looks potentially useful, though the Flash project page is offputting. (via Richard Dudley)

• Portable Firefox 1.0 - Special build of Firefox designed to run from read-only and portable devices. (via Steve Makofsky)

• Black hole projects - Paul Vick enumerates some of the salient features of big failures at Microsoft. Even from my own limited insider knowledge I can think of a few that fit his points just fine.
