Contest Time Again

You may have noticed that The Daily Grind #900 was published today. I find that
pretty amazing myself, but I'm still having fun and there's certainly no shortage
of interesting software and information in the .NET universe to link to. More to
the point, with #900 out of the way, #1000 is just around the corner (it will be
published in late October). I can think of no better way to celebrate this milestone
than by holding another contest to give stuff away.
Full details of the Larkware 1000 Contest will be posted around the start of July;
I'm still lining up sponsors (if you're interested in being a sponsor, then
e-mail me). But one thing I can tell you is that there's a way to enter
with near-zero effort on your part. At the top of the
Larkware home page you'll
see the new "tell a friend" feature. See, I'm convinced that there are a lot of
.NET developers who would read The Daily Grind regularly if only they knew about
it, and you folks are the best way to reach them. So every time you refer someone
to the site, your own e-mail address will be entered in a prize drawing that will
be conducted when I publish #1000. The prizes will be books and software, and I
expect they'll be pretty nifty.
To (hopefully) keep spammers from hijacking this, it's a two-step process; you need
to click a link in an e-mail sent to your own address to actually enter and send
out the referral mail. But I've tried to make it as painless as possible. So if
you can think of anyone who ought to be reading Larkware, here's your chance to
do a good deed for them, a good deed for me, and to get a chance at winning some
cool stuff. What could be better?
