  • Woody Leonhard says there are already exploits on the Web for a couple of those Office security holes I mentioned yesterday. That changes the picture a bit. At this point, I no longer recommend holding off; if you're running Office 2000 or Office XP, visit the Office Update site and get yourself patched.
  • Borland, IBM team for .NET apps - Bundling deals ship DB2 with C#Builder and vice versa. I take this as a sign of how well the underlying .NET architecture is catching on; you've got two sometime-rivals of Microsoft collaborating on packages that make use of Microsoft's infrastructure.
  • Handy Backup - $30 app to backup data to Zip files, FTP sites, or CD-RW.
  • XMLSPY 2004 - Looks like Altova has upgraded their high-end XML editing suite again. I'll have to dig in a bit and see what's new.
  • Automated Deployment Services 1.0 - New set of bits from Microsoft to help deploy Windows 2000 Server and Windows Server 2003 remotely on to bare metal servers. Also includes a remote script execution framework for use after deployment.
  • Full-featured Automatic Argument Parser - Another command-line parsing class for .NET. This one makes good use of attributes to set things up in a natural way.
